If you're using a device on Android Oreo (8.x) or greater, you may need to update your system settings to receive notifications properly. For Android Nougat (7.x) and lower, you can change all of your notifications for Kik right in the app!
For Android
Android Nougat (7.x) and lower
- Tap Settings
- Tap Notifications
- Tap or Toggle:
- Sound: to turn on/off sound notifications
- Vibration: to turn on/off vibration notifications
- LED Color: to select which color you want to use for Kik notifications
- Mute New Chats: to mute notifications for messages from new people
Android Oreo (8.x) and greater
- Tap Settings
- Tap Notifications
- Tap or Toggle:

- In-app Alerts: go into your Android notification settings for Kik
- Mute New Chats: to mute notifications for messages from new people
NOTE: With Android Oreo (8.x), Google introduced some notification changes, one of them being that the LED Color will no longer be customizable. We have set it to be green by default.

- You can enable the LED light in your system settings (may be called Pulse notification light, Blink light, etc.). Make sure you have it enabled for Kik as well.
For iOS
- Tap Settings
- Tap Notifications
- Toggle:
- Sound: to turn on/off sound notifications
- Vibration: to turn on/off vibration notifications
- Message Preview: to see the first part of your kik messages in the push notification
- Mute New Chats: to mute notifications for messages from new people
