If you are on a device that supports tipping, you’ll know you can tip a message if:
- Any non-text messages you send have the active
button on the bottom-right corner of the message.
- If you tap on a message to reveal the timestamp and this button
also appears below the message.
To tip a message:
- Tap the
button or the message itself (if the message is a text message) to reveal the
button. If you have a sufficient Kin balance, tapping the
button will add a tip to that message.
-
- If the transaction completes successfully, a check mark will appear inside the button, and the amount of Kin associated with that message will increase by one.
- If there is a failure for any reason, a red exclamation mark will appear in the button, and you’ll have the chance to retry or cancel the tip.
To check if a tip completed:
- From your main chat list, tap on the + menu.
- Select Kin Marketplace Beta.
- Select Kin Balance in the right-hand corner, which will show your transaction history.
- If the tip is the most recent action you’ve performed, you should see it as the first entry in your history.
What if no messages in my group have the or
button?
- Don’t panic! It just means the group hasn’t been enabled for tipping yet, but it will be soon!
